Authentication

Authentication optionally protects the API from anonymous use. When it is disabled, the connection is signed in automatically as the built-in DisplayNet user, which holds the User role and so cannot run Admin commands.

Connection State describes the states a session moves through and the DN_AUTHENTICATION reply that marks each one.
